Large scale
distributed systems and processes are conceived, built and maintained
over several decades. Due to the complexities of dealing with large
teams and diverse toolsets, very little performance modeling and
analysis are typically performed, instead deferring such issues to the
integration time and “observation-under-operation”. However,
performance errors found during integration time are typically more
expensive to correct, especially if they require architectural or
interface changes impacting more than one subsystem, mandating
multiple regression tests and justifications.
nVision mitigates
and shifts these late stage project risks to earlier in the cycle, for
effective risk management.
Using well
established mathematical analysis, simulation techniques and our own
practical expertise, with the help of Lockheed Martin Advanced
Technology Labs, we have developed an approach to modeling, analysis
and simulation of architectures, and applied it to a sample project and process environment.
